In the Community

St. John’s has strong ties to three Community Organizations.  As we build our site, we will be adding more information about these organizations and pictures, too!  Please click the links below to visit these websites and find out more about them.

Northeast Community Fund

Founded in 1969 by St. John’s Lutheran Church and three local businesses, the Northeast Community Fund serves families in our community by providing life’s essentials (like food and clothing), education, and other resources in a Christ-like manner.  The Northeast Community Fund always accept clothing, financial and non-perishable food donations in addition to volunteers who have a servant’s heart.  (Did you know…?  In 1969, when the Northeast Community Fund first opened, served only a few food baskets during the first month; however, between 2004 and 2013, they served over 95,000!)

Lutheran School Association

St. John’s is proud to be an associate member of the Lutheran School Association.  The LSA provides our members and their families (as well as families of the community) with a solid, Christ-centered education for grades K-12.

LSA Resale Shop

The LSA Resale Shop is a non-profit store that provides clothing and household items at a reasonable price to Decatur families while also supporting the LSA.  The LSA Resale Shop is located at 421 E. Cerro Gordo St. in Decatur.  Hours are 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
